Shore Line with Vue 6 Esprit

Shore Line with Vue 6 Esprit

Postby Adorana » Wed Jul 30, 2008 1:54 pm

Hi all together!

I tried to follow the Island Tutorial in the Boosting Creativity Section with my Vue 6 Esprit.
There's no input node in this version. (My goal in some weeks is to make a closeup of a shore line with an old lady laughing in the wind :D )

Do you have any hint for me how I can acheive the milky foam on the shore without this node?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know how to do it in VUE, but as a last resort you could add it as post work using wave brushes in your image editing program.

I went through the same thing you did, Adorana, when I first started out with Vue. There are a few workarounds that I've found. I forget, and since I'm not home I can't check, if one of the material packs from here has a shoreline material. The other thing to do is either purchase SeaVue, as mentioned above, or Terrapak. I suggest Terrapak, that could be because it's the only one I've played with so far, because not only does it offer a nice foamy material, it comes with a template material for making realistic landscapes and easily. No more doing the tedious work yourself when you have this and can just change out materials. And my last suggestion, and still haven't figured out if this is acceptable to do, is to download the PLE. You cannot save a PLE material for use with Espirit, but you can make the material how you want it, then copy it and paste it into Espirit. I've done it a few times before I purchased Vue Infinite, but it just seems wrong to exploit a loophole like that. *shrugs* But I leave it up to you to decide what you feel comfortable doing.

Thanks a lot for your answers! They are very helpful! :D

I guess a combination of material settings and use of brushes in Photoshop would be the best.
I searched and found the mentioned products - wow!! Definitively it's a good idea to buy something like that.
Above of this I'm always searching for knowledge and want to figure out the "how".

Thanks, LightningJynx, for your little hint.
Seems to be the best to follow the tutorial in this case. At long sight one of the other soluation is probably the best.

Thanks for the tip on SEAVUE, I got it yesterday and am enjoying it in some learning renders. I'll check out Terrapak as well.
