Bamboo Hut Roof Texture

Bamboo Hut Roof Texture

Postby arnoldt » Mon Nov 17, 2008 11:37 am

Ok so I was watching the bamboo hut tutorial, and I have a question about the roof texture. Did you make that with filter forge?? If so can you give me brief rundown on how you did it. I looked through the filters on filter forge site and did not see one like that. The only one I found was a single leaf. Thanks

I created palm leaf in Filterforge, saved image and alpha map. Imported in Photoshop and combine them in there, i think i have it was in tutorial. I can record other one just to show how to create textures.

Thats what I was thinking. I just was not sure if you could do that in filterforge or not. I should be able handle it without a tutorial. I am pretty good with photoshop. Unless you want to make one for everyone else. It could be handy. How do you save the image in filterforge without that background picture?

Save as PNG with transparent background.
Vue work well with that format.

That makes sense. The one format I did not try was PNG. Thanks

When I save it as a png with transparency It still shows up with a white background. Any ideas?

In your editor you have the option to invert image/reverse, when you do the white will be transparent.

Alright, I think I am making this to hard. I know there has to be something I am missing.

1. I open filter forge
2. Load ferninator filter
3. Save as png with transparency
4. Load png in photoshop
5. Leaf is flattened on a white background

Could not find the invert image/reverse thing.

A bamboo hut roofing is not really a smart one it his place. Sometimes you should at leased do something in my ride. They are really smart for inventing such models.
