Desert (canyon like)

Postby nfok » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:37 am

ImageHi.This is my first post. I'm sorry for my english, maybe it's not too good sometimes, but I make my best to be understandable.

This image, made in Vue8 xStream, is inspired in the Desert tutorial (in "Epic Landscapes" I think).

I'm not satisfyed with the ground terrain, I'll change it for a procedural one and maybe gife it some more detail and height (it's so flat that you can't see the stairy look of the ground). I'll post the new render in some days.

I like the atmosphere feeling, with this slightly greenish sky and the haze. Maybe the plants are too big and break the sensation of depth. However I tried to achieve a slight cartoony look without loosing the realism... maybe should work more on this balance. Next days I'll post some more images, 3 or 4 works.

I'd be enormously granted if you comment the image. Good things and (of course) BAD things. How to improve it and how to enhance the sensation of enormous without loosing the size in the foreground.

Thank you very much. I love this site and I'm looking forward to new tutorials. Great and helpful job done here.

I see my image when entering at my post. I'll look what has happened and fix it. Thanx. lol

Hope this shows. Although it's chopped from the sides, it was a panorama view. ^^
