Gary,

I wondering if you will start creating video tutorials for Cinema 4D? I just love the ones you have for Hexagon. Keep up the great work!

I would like to re-open this thread with another kind request for C4D tuts. I am finding it really hard to find tuts that walk you through the basics of the program.

If anyone know where I can find a site with intro C4D tuts that are free that would be nice.

I would seriously consider surfing over to C4dcafe.com. THe owner, Nigel Doyle, is a absolute guru master Jedi C4d awesome GOD. He has video tutorials and a very very busy forum that can answer your questions. His tutorials are available for free download and he also has a DVD for bodypaint users.

While it is not mandatory, he does politely ask people to consider donations to keep it running.

C4dcafe.com You gotta go there and learn everything there is to know about C4d.

Gary,

Thank yo for referring C4DCafe. I have been there before, but did not know what to make of it, to be honest. What is Nigel Doyle's user name? I would love to see his tutorials.

Also, I found a pretty good channel on youtube that teaches Cinema 4D. It is called "MaxonC4D."

Thanks again.

P.S. I was just really hoping Gary would work on some C4D tuts, as I really like following the Hexagon tuts!

RIght now I am rendering an intro C4d tutorial. I have a few hours without the kids and wife so I will spend that time making some beginner tuts. I will focus on showing a new user how to get up and running in just a few minutes provided they have basic modeling experience. I want to make the tutorials contain just the essentials to allow a new user to know how to subdivide, make selections, cuts, spline modeling etc. Sort of a power intro tutorial you could call it. I will record, render and upload them today so you will have to wait several days until they are available for viewing.

Remember also that with sigraph coming up, Vlad and company are extremely busy making preperations for that. So please allow for them to have free time to post them on the site.

Also, since you enjoy following the HEX tuts, I will, whereever possible, compare tools and features between C4d and Hex so that you can easily switch mental gears when you need a tool in C4d to do what you are accustomed to in HEX. I think this will also help in getting over the transition from HEX to C4d.

Gary,

Wow, a "power" into is just what the doctor ordered in my case. I have followed a couple tutorials for C4D on some other websites and they are nice and easy to follow, but they do not go into the "why" of what they are doing, or whether there is another method. So I look forward to this.

Also, I understand that you guys will be busy with SIGGRAPH and all so i will be patient.

I am looking forward to new vids!

I must be upfront and readily confess that I do not possess the same fluency, efficiency and experience with C4d that I do with Hexagon. As such, I can only really show the basics which I know very well. For more technical stuff and advanced stuff you will have to learn else where. On the other hand, I do know Bodypaint very, very well and that is my primary usage for C4d. If you need BP tuts then I can definately fill in that void quite comfortably.

These tutorials I recorded are not "power" in the sense that they go into depth or detail, as I said, it is only an introduction to the basics to get beginners up and running with a knowledge or introduction to the essential tools. I will do more as needed and requested if I am able. :D

Ok, I have recorded and uploaded 5 C4d/BodyPaint3d tuts. Hopefully when Vlad returns from Sigraph, after he enjoys all the Cajun food and the wonderful Louisiana red beans and rice creations, he will make them viewable.
