New C4d tutorials

New C4d tutorials

Postby Gary Miller on Sat Aug 08, 2009 7:56 am

Over the past week I have recorded 6 new C4d tutorials and I am rendering the 6th right now. I will upload them to GAP and when they are approved they will be available for viewing. These are intended to be informative for beginners and will help get a new user familiar with the tools that I use in my Hexagon tutorials.

Ideally, if a person has exhausted their use of Hexagon and wants to migrate over to something more powerful, these tutorials will help to quickly and comfortably bridge the gap between the two programs and make the transition smoother.

I am open to any suggestions for C4d tutorials so fire away if you need to know something.

FYI, I only have the core program of C4d/Bodypaint so I cannot help with thinking particles, creating hair, using MOCCA or using any advanced render settings. I don't possess any of the plugins so I cannot assist anyone with them---sorry. But I am very fluent with Body Paint so hit me up with any questions you might have with it.

Not a problem spankxya, everyone will have to upgrade their software eventually and while you might not need or want to upgrade now, you will at some point in time. At least this will give you some understanding as to how C4d works and you can decide for yourself on whether it turns you on or not. Not every program is for everyone so you can use this as a chance to get a freebie evaluation of C4d. I say this because, from all visible accounts it appears that Hexagon is dead in the water. DAZ has shown no signs of continued update or enhancement. Anyway, enjoy

Oh that's just like me to hop on the bandwagon AFTER its lost all its wheels. Ah well its a good stepping stone I suppose. Think Ill start having a look into C4D and see if it has any use for me like you said.

Hi,

my Name ist Michel, I'm from Germany - so maybe me english is not the best, but I got a Question. Here the context:

Currently I use Hexagon & Vue 8 Infinite for my projekts. But I consider to purchase C4D and upgrade Infinite to XStream. I am self-employed with landscape-architectur in the second year. I work freelance for other offices too. Most I get DWG or DXF (AutoCAD files) from them, witch I convert in Adobe Illustrator in an AI-3 file, to make them importable in Hexagon with all curves.
After the inport in extrude the lines and model all I need, after this step I export it as a 3ds-file and import it in VUE. Here I set all the materials, plants and make the final rendering of the conposition.

Because I never used C4D, I don´t know if it is possible to import DWG, DXF or AI files an extrude them, like I done it thousand times before in Hexagon. If it isn't possible or the time consuming, i would stay by the method I use at the moment.
Is it possible to emplane the workflow in short tutorial? - I would be deeply grateful.

thx
